Following up on the implementation of judicial decisions, Acting Mayor of Sidon, Dr. Ahmed Akra, accompanied by municipal council members Baraa Hariri, Mohammad Shamas, Wael Qasab, Tayseer Zaatari, Majed Abdel Jawad, and Ahmed Shuaib, conducted an inspection tour of the solid waste treatment plant in Siniq immediately after its reopening and resumption of receiving waste.
The municipal delegation inspected the truck traffic and operational departments to definitively confirm the plant's return to receiving waste from the streets of Sidon and the municipalities within the Union, and to verify that waste was being treated using the approved technical methods as before, without any obstacles.
During the tour, Dr. Akra emphasized that "the municipality will not be satisfied with mere written decisions, but will remain present and vigilant to guarantee the rights of our people in Sidon to live in a clean and healthy environment." He stressed that "the plant's doors will remain open under penalty of law, and the municipality has instructed the plant and NTCC to work extra hours today to complete the removal of accumulated waste from the streets, starting today and continuing until the city is completely clean."
